Paper and board are so important that we tend to take them for granted. Reach out in your daily life
and you will touch paper: money, travel tickets, packaging, telephone directories, greeting cards,
and stamps. There are many more uses for paper and board, as you will discover when reading through the information in CPI's School Packs. There are two packs available, one suitable for primary/junior ages and the other aimed at secondary schools.
The notes cover topics such as the history of paper and the rise in
its consumption; a detailed description of the papermaking process; use of raw materials such as
woodpulp and recovered paper; paper and the forest; corrugated packaging; recycling and the processes involved. The content
of the Teachers Information Pack is designed to aid the teacher in gathering useful information on
the paper Industry and its processes.
A booklet covering a variety of activities from Question sheets, Experiment guides and Arts and Craft ideas.
All activities are designed to be class room friendly and gives an opportunity to be hand on when learning
about paper and its processes.
A series of free A4 fact sheets which serve either as standalone information for the general enquirer, or as
an introduction for those with a deeper interest.
The series provides an excellent basic grounding for teachers of all levels.
We hope you will find this a useful aid in teaching the history and the
process of one of the oldest skills known to man.
